Today started early for most. We were all at the airport by 4:15. The group who went on United Airlines was checked and going before we all knew it. That group left by round 6. The American Airlines group was in for a surprise when we found that our flight was delayed until 10:00. Our luggage was not even checked until 8:30. Euchre was the way to pass the time for some. "By all means, throw the right!" was a quote that stuck out with the table having a K of off suit and a 9 of trump.
That group got through and were on their way after 3 hours of delay. When they arrived in Dallas, they had to immediately go to the plane for the flight to Japan. Seriously, they held the plane for us; and, we were bused across the runway to get there. That plane left at 12:30 PM; and, we were headed for Japan!
The group crossed the International Date Line at 11:00 AM. After hours of in-flight movies and sleep, the above picture was a welcome sight for all as we arrived in the Land of the Rising Sun! Once again, there was another transfer to another plane. This was the first time we got to use our yen and many were pleased with their purchases at the airport's Duty Free stores. The plane for Osaka left at 5:45 PM and arrived at 6:50 PM. After finally getting through Customs, we were officially in Japan!
After passing customs, we met Naomi-san, our tour guide. She walked us to the bus which took us to the hotel. The ride was about 45 minutes. Once we arrived at Chi-sun, our hotel, everyone went to their rooms and many crashed instantly. Some, however, took a chance to get a snack in Osaka's underground mall.
Our wake up call is 7:00 AM to head out for Kyoto! Good night all!
